The Western Australian Rugby League and the Australian Rugby League School Development unit are pleased to offer interested schools an alternative to the usual sporting curriculum for the year 2009.
Rugby League in its traditional tackle format is once again becoming very popular in the High School system. The Western Australian Rugby League continues to offer quality programs for tackle Rugby League, as well as the modified version of the sport known as LeagueTag.
LeagueTag is a modified version of Rugby League, developed specifically for students new to our game. The game highlights “NO CONTACT”, and encourages full participation by both boys and girls. Helping to develop team and individual interactions as well as physical coordination refinement.
LeagueTag has been a great success throughout W.A, involving over 200 schools in the Metropolitan, as well as regional areas. The program includes a provision of services to schools in the form of clinics; targeting students from grades 1-12.Clinics are generally conducted over a 3-4 week period; eg 3 – 4 consecutive Tuesdays. These clinics are provided FREE OF COST and are conducted by professional accredited coaching staff.
