Vail- Troy Brophy

WARL_3C_Flat PosThe Western Australian Rugby League would like to extend their condolences to the family of Troy Brophy. Troy was a  Past Player and Life Member of the Willagee Bears Club, who suddenly passed away on Friday, 17 May 2013.

Troy played all his Junior and Senior rugby league with the Willagee Bears RLC, starting at the young age of 7, he was a well known and much loved part of the Bears family.  Troy has been a committee member, manager/coach, player and life member of the Bears. He will be a great loss to the club, the WARL Community as well as his family. A minutes silence will commence just before the First Grade game in remembrance to Troy and his contributions to the game.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday 28th May at Bowra and O’dea – 312 South Street, Hilton, with a viewing at 10.00am with the Service to start 10.30am. Willagee Bears RLC, Webber Reserve, Willagee, will be open after the service for everyone that wishes to help commemorate Troy and his wonderful life.

WOMEN in League Round

The WA Rugby League WOMEN in League round is this weekend, Saturday 25th May and Sunday 26th May 2013.

This is a very important day for the Rugby League community were we recognise and acknowledge the women in our game. From the canteen workers to the players, to the club administrators and the parents, we simply wouldn’t have a game without these hardworking, dedicated women in our lives.

We would like to thank all women involved in the WA Rugby league; your contribution does not go unnoticed.

This weekend also provides an opportunity for our clubs to raise much needed funds for Women’s charities of their preference. So please get down to your local Rugby League club this weekend, any small donation is greatly appreciated. There will be some fantastic Rugby League on show too so make sure you pop on some PINK clothes and get there early to see all the action.
